Welcome to my skin site!  I am honest, vulnerable, and will tell you like it is.  I have gone from a shriveled wrinkly prune to clear and healthy skin.  I want to share with you my lessons, mistakes, and jewels on that journey!

So many of my friends hit their 40’s and it’s like all of a sudden these wrinkles pop out of no where!  You and I may have sat and talked about it.  It catches us off guard and sends us to Amazon, Target, or the spa spending money to find what works.  Well, honestly I did some of that too.  I want to save you some money and get down to the root of those wrinkles, fine lines, and age spots.  So here it is, the lessons I learned the hard way!

For me, I live in the tropics and dehydration has been with me more days than not, causing cell damage on my skin. Just by drinking 8 glasses of water a day, I had similar results as the lady featured in this video.  Do you think you might be dehydrated? You can make this change today.


Sugar causes aging (among many other issues).  I came to realize that my sugars were imbalanced all day long.  Between sugar cravings, not wanting to get out of bed, and afternoon fatigues, I was facing problems daily and treating it with strong coffee mixed with sweetened condensed milk! Ha!  Until, I found a natural way to balance sugar.

Omegas: Healthy Oils Your Skin Needs.

This is why your mother and grandmother took Vitamin E but nowadays we know even more about these essential oils which can be found in fish oil, avocados, blackcurrant, and seeds.

Broccoli seed oil keeps skin moist and wrinkle free. It relieves dehydrated and ultra-sensitive skin. It also reduces skin inflammation along with eczema and psoriasis.

Avocado oil is high in monounsaturated fats and vitamin E. It enhances the absorption of nutrients. This oil was originally for cosmetic use because of its very high skin penetration and absorption.

Sea Buckthorn oil is one of the most amazing ingredients in MegaX. It is a herb.  It treats asthma, heart disorders like chest pains, and high cholesterol. It helps prevent blood vessel disease and it’s an antioxidant. This oil is also used to slow down the decline of thinking skills with age, reduce illness due to cancer, and limits the toxicity of chemotherapy! It balances the immune system, treats stomach and intestinal diseases like ulcers and GERD.

Pomegranate seed oil is pretty amazing. The antioxidants of the oil eliminates free radicals that cause cellular degradation and premature aging. Vegetable Glycerin is also known as Glycerol. It’s taken for weight loss, improved exercise performance, and reduces pressure inside the eye in people with glaucoma. It also replaces water loss during diarrhea and vomiting. Athletes use it to keep from becoming dehydrated.

Lesson 2: Healing Is Enhanced From The Outside In

Moisturize Well

The first tip is to combine your morning ritual into one and to give time between each step.

Step 1: Exfoliate your skin DAILY! I learned this from Christy Brinkley who was 63 when photographed here. Christy is a good resource as she has never had surgery or expensive procedures to enhance her skin but has taken care of herself naturally.  (Although I will mention that she uses hair extensions for that long think hair!)


Christy explains that men often look 10 years younger and this is attributed to their shaving.  Shaving exfoliates the skin and men who shave daily have skin that looks younger.  She suggests using a mild face exfoliator.  I have never felt the brand was important here but keep scrubbing down to about 30 seconds to not irritate the skin and avoid areas of acne.  You can easily make your own scrub by mixing used coffee grounds with a facial cleanser!

Step 2: Moisturize your face with a good moisturizer and built-in sunscreen.  I use Cerave because it is not costly but works really well.  There are better moisturizers out there but they are expensive.

Step 3: The eyes are the first thing people see therefore, I have a special moisturizer for eyes, which I call magic, because it immediately decreases wrinkles, puffiness, and dark circles.  The longer I’ve used it, the better my eyes have looked.  A bit pricey but this is the one product I choose because it works so well! Step 4: Wait and let it absorb into your skin before you apply make up.  I usually brush my teeth here.

Step 5: When it comes to applying the right make up, I want to share a few tips.  The following article will explain more.

  • First, apply primer.
  • Second, choose a foundation that gives your face more moisture and sunscreen.
  • Third, apply concealer sparingly and be sure to spread evenly.
  • Fourth, choose a light shade of eye shadow, go for creme based, and apply gently.
  • Fifth, choose brown eyeliner instead of black.
  • Sixth, go for an eyelash moisturizer before your mascara to extend the length of your lashes.
  • Last, skip the powder as it will fall into your fine lines making them more obvious but choose a moisturing spray to keep in your purse on the days when your face is dry.

10 Makeup Mistakes That Are Aging You

Every night, even when I am exhausted, I wash my face with soap and apply my face and eye moisturizers again.

A Few Hacks To Help Your Skin

In finality, I would like to give you a few extra tips tried by myself recently or friends I know.

1. Face masks are fun and work.  Choose a face mask that has the ingredient hyaluronic acid for extreme moisture help! Here is an example below.  These are not pricy (I can buy them in Asia for a dollar each) and one of the best ways to sink in extreme moisture. I notice a difference immediately.

2. Eat mostly fruits and vegetables.  This is another tip from Christy Brinkley who is a lifelong vegetarian.

3. When exfoliating your skin or adding moisturizer, don’t forget the neck and upper chest.

4. Do you use Progesterone creme?  Often women in menopause are prescribed this in order to help with the symptoms.  Did you know that an age-old treatment for wrinkles and age spots has been to apply the lotion to your face at night?  You can read more here.  Progesterone Creme For Anti-aging

5. Wear bug-eyed sunglasses every time  your out and consider a scarf or hat for more cover.
